The long awaited follow up to Despiertame is here! Here is a review of the album by Bandwagon Magazine:
The band released their third album III, in August this year.
They hope that through this compilation there is continuity. That their music is played in the right places and that “people get the feeling of something real,” says Avina. In III’s first song “It’s Not In You,” they share the message of taking responsibility for what is going on in the world with lyrics saying, “Sometimes ignorance is peace within yourself, and you prefer not to understand what happens here.” Accompanied by dancy and engaging rhythms, they transition into the rest of the album which portrays the group’s growth.
That presentation is more apparent in Izcalli’s live shows so they designed III with the intention of sharing their raw and natural sound. In “Once I Knew Your Name” the listener can really embrace those sensations of the “power rock” that they’ve mastered. With lyrics saying “You gave him all I gave to you, and there’s a light in your truth I see,” they express what was originally acoustic, but so full of emotion it had to be amplified by the intensity of their full band sound.
